We definitely experienced the most interesting senior photo shoot so far with Elena! The day of her scheduled shoot, the rain clouds loomed above, but after speaking to Elena about the potential for rain, we prayed for the best, and decided to try and go ahead and meet for the shoot. By the time we all arrived at the shoot location, it was flooding. Thomas and I offered to reschedule, but we told Elena that we’d be willing to do some “just for fun” pictures if she was willing, and we would have a “do-over session” so that she could be dry in some of the pictures. She was not deterred by the rain at all! When I pulled out the rain boots and umbrella that Thomas had so cleverly brought to the shoot (just in case that rain came early), Elena, without hesitation, changed clothes, pulled on the rain boots, grabbed the umbrella, and struck a pose. She was a natural.
The rain came down for about half an hour, heavy at times. We shot right through most of it, only breaking to let the cameras dry out. Elena never once complained about getting wet or having frizzy hair…she just shook off the rain, pulled her hair up in a messy-bun, and we kept shooting. We were thrilled when we got home. Elena’s carefree spirit and laidback style are definitely apparent in the images.
We met Elena and her mom for the real rain-free shoot this past weekend, and although there was no rain, we picked the hottest day of the year so far. Once again, Elena was not deterred, and again, she was a natural.
We hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed taking them!
