Amy & Ben’s Lake Martin Wedding | Alabama Wedding Photographers

Amy and Ben’s wedding was just dreamy. All day long I felt like I needed to pinch myself.  A gorgeous bride, a handsome groom, lovely details, pretty bridesmaids, dapper groomsmen, beautiful flowers and the picturesque setting of Children’s Harbor on Lake Martin made this wedding a photographer’s dream.

Amy’s gown couldn’t have been any more perfect for her. It was lace, with  dainty cap sleeves and it hugged her petite frame just right. She chose peach-colored bridesmaids’ dresses, and used pops of bright orange and blue as accent colors in her bouquets. One of my favorite little details of the day was definitely Amy’s garter sewn from vintage lace, adorned with a vintage brooch that belonged to the groom’s grandmother. I also loved those cute orange shoes! So pretty! The groom wore a khaki suit with a blue and white seersucker tie, and Ben and Amy’s golden retriever even wore a matching bow tie for some photos with the bride. The groomsmen donned khaki suits with similar ties, but in peach and white. Everyone looked so lovely!

Another favorite part of the day? As Amy and Ben exited the wedding reception with their dog by their side, their guests waved Auburn shakers and cheered. The couple jumped onto a boat, and in true fairytale fashion, as the boat disappeared into the darkness, the sky erupted with a beautiful show of fireworks that seemed to last forever. {Swoon!}

Although the prettiness and fairytale-likeness certainly made the day more enjoyable, the best part of the day, hands-down, was this easygoing and fun-loving couple. Amy was so relaxed, and she really had FUN on her wedding day, which made it fun for us too! She was a beautiful bride who wasn’t afraid to be silly and laugh with her friends {and her photographers}! What more can you ask for? And Ben was super relaxed, which always makes our job easier. He didn’t hesitate when we asked to pull them away from the reception for a few minutes to grab some beautiful sunset shots. We loved photographing these two and shooting their wedding. They had fun, we had fun and we truly felt as though we were part of the celebration.

Amy and Ben, thank you so much for including us in your wedding. It was a joy to spend time with you guys and photograph such a beautiful day in your lives. We pray that the Lord blesses your future together as husband and wife.

xoxo,

Sarah
