Trae and Christie became Mr. and Mrs. Hamm on June 5, 2010, at Lanark Plantation. The day began with a brief rain shower, but the clouds passed, and the day was beautiful. Trae and Thomas have been friends since high school, so it was super special for us to be able to photograph this wedding.
We so enjoyed being a part of the day, but I have to say that my very favorite part of the day was the moment when Trae first saw Christie. We keep the First Look Moments very private for our brides and grooms, and we always step back to capture them from afar so that the bride and groom have time to enjoy that special, quiet time together. It was like a wave of relief washed over both Christie & Trae when they saw each other. They were finally there…together…and soon they would be Mr. and Mrs.
The ceremony was lovely, outdoors on the lawn beside the home. The reception was fabulous too, complete with a live band and lots of dancing. When Trae and Christie prepared to leave, the thunder sounded above and the clouds rolled back in. Everyone scurried from the tent to the house to see the newlyweds off to their honeymoon. Although the guests didn’t get to shower the bride & groom with the lavender as planned, they clapped and cheered as the bride & groom headed to the door. With an umbrella in hand, Trae swept Christie off of her feet and carried his bride through the pouring rain to the limo. After they pulled away, the guests were still talking about what a beautiful day it had been. It really was a wonderful day.
Trae & Christie, we truly enjoyed being a part of your wedding day. We pray that you have a lifetime of love, fun and happiness together as husband and wife. Be blessed!
