A few weeks ago, we headed down to Macon, Georgia to meet Dorothy and Kort for their e-session. We were really looking forward to spending some time with Dorothy and Kort, because although we knew a good bit about them, and Thomas had met Dorothy before, we had not yet had a chance to really get to know each other. {Dorothy is Thomas’ sister-in-law’s first cousin, so he had met here before, and we both had an idea of how wonderful she was through Jane.}
Dorothy wanted to do half of her e-session in the backyard of her father’s home, which is the home she grew up in, and half of the e-session at her dad’s farm. We gladly agreed. We always love to photograph engagement sessions at locations that are special to the couple, and we knew that Dorothy would choose somewhere lovely for the session. When we arrived at her father’s house, we were elated. We had found the secret garden. This was definitely a dream location for a session. We had the perfect amount of filtered light, with beautiful color and architectural details everywhere. It was simply lovely.
When we finished up there, we jumped in our cars and headed to the farm. When we pulled up, Thomas and I were even more excited to see this beautiful property. Dorothy and Kort changed for the second half of their session, and then we all meandered around the farm, stopping to chat here and there, learning more about each other and taking photos as we went. {We also learned that the farm used to belong to the Allman Brothers, and the images on their album, “Brothers and Sisters,” were photographed there. The diner where “Fried Green Tomatoes” was filmed is just down the street from the farm, too. Pretty cool!} We had a great time getting to know Dorothy and Kort, and we had a lovely day at a gorgeous place.
Dorothy and Kort, you two are just as wonderful as we knew you would be. We are very-much looking forward to getting to know you both more, and we are thrilled to be shooting your wedding in January!
Sarah and Thomas, y’all outdid yourselves! We look like we stepped into Lothlorien, the woods of elves, with all the golden light, flowers and beautiful trees. My favorites are the brick arch picture with the fig vine and Kort looking at me, the Bacchus-head ring picture, and the rocking chair picture. Well done!
These are gorgeous 🙂 Looked like a perfect evening!
I love her dress. I almost bought one like that at Macy’s! Good job as always!
