A Little Bit of Big News | T2 Photography

Wow. It seems like we’ve been waiting to make this announcement forever. {And before your minds even go there…No! 🙂 We’re not adding to our family yet! We are still a very happy family of two people and two dogs.} But since our announcement about going full-time, this is definitely the biggest change we’ve made.

After lots of prayer, thinking about the future, and a whole lot of hard work, Thomas and I have moved! As most of you already know, we love to travel, and we want to travel everywhere and anywhere to shoot weddings. So really, this announcement is mostly personal. T2 Photography does have a new base camp, though. We have moved from Huntsville, Alabama to Auburn, Alabama. We’ve been in the midst of this move for a while {which is one of the reasons we’ve been so quiet}, but we wanted to wait to make the announcement until we found a home. On Tuesday we signed a lease on a darling little house that is just perfect for us {and our pups}. I know that Huntsville to Auburn doesn’t sound like a huge change to many of you, but for us, it’s definitely big. Two trips from Huntsville to Auburn, one 26-foot UHaul, one 12-foot UHaul trailer, three storage units, two weeks with my parents and about a thousand phone calls about rental houses later…we have found a home, and we officially have an Auburn address. So yes…for us? That’s a pretty big undertaking and a pretty exciting change.

As I said, we have been praying about this for a while. Once Thomas and I both went full-time, it simply made sense to move closer to family. Although we have no plans to have children in the immediate future, we would one day like to expand our little family. We also realize, that once we do have kids, our families will be {an even more} critical part of our business’ success. For me to continue shooting weddings with Thomas, we will need to have grandparents, aunts and uncles close by, so that they can help keep the {hypothetical-future} babies while we’re shooting.

That was not the only reason we made this decision, though. We’ve been blessed with really wonderful families…and quite honestly? I’ve missed them during these past three years. I think that being away for a while has been a super important critical time in our marriage, though. We learned to rely on each other…and only each other. If we hadn’t moved away from our families? I’m pretty sure that T2 Photography may never have been born. Not that they would have inhibited our growth or shot down our dreams, because they have done the exact opposite of that. They have been our biggest cheerleaders, believing in our dreams since the very beginning. But more because I’m not sure that the creative growth that happened within us and between us would have happened if we hadn’t had that important time of us just being us…just the two of us…learning more about each other and growing closer together everyday. But now? I’m so excited to plant roots…to be closer to the people I love and to continue growing this business, this part of our hearts, to what we know that it can become.

I spent many years of my life in Auburn, and although I always loved “The Loveliest Village On The Plains,” I can’t say that I ever thought I would move back. But God had other plans for Thomas and me, and we couldn’t be more excited about being back in Auburn. We love the community, we have lots of friends here, there are tons of other young professionals in the area, and we’re excited to plant the roots of our family and the roots of our business in this lovely city.

And we’re also pretty excited to be closer to Atlanta….because like I said, we have big dreams about traveling all over for weddings. We plan to make many flights from that airport, because we wanna see the world! 🙂

We hope that you’ll help spread the word about us…wherever you are. If you’re in Auburn, we’d love for you to tell your neighbors and friends! But those of you in Tempe, Arizona, and those of you in Baltimore, Maryland? And to our friends reading this Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Lakeville, Minnesota? And even those of you in India, China, Canada and Australia? We’d love for you to tell your friends too! We’ll gladly bring our cameras, our style, and our oh-so-subtle accents, and we’ll come to photograph your most important moments too!

More updates coming soon. Yep. That’s right. We’re not done yet. But until then, I’ll leave you with a few photos of Thomas and me. One evening a couple of weeks ago, we grabbed our cameras, jumped in my car and stopped at one of my favorite antique stores just to play for a bit. {We’re making a conscious effort to take more photos of each other.} So here we are…out from behind the camera {for the most part}!

Until next time, be blessed!
