The Wang-Berryhill Wedding | Birmingham, Alabama Wedding Photographer

Erika and Chadwick came to us through past clients, and dear friends, Anna Grace and Ben. When we met them for their engagement session, we knew Erika and Chadwick were completely in love, and we knew their wedding would be an beautiful celebration of love before God and their families. We were not disappointed.

Erika and Chadwick’s wedding took place at Tannehill State Park just outside of Birmingham, and when we arrived, the bride and her bridesmaids were busy as bees preparing for the day in the old school house, where the reception would take place. Their families, bridesmaids and groomsmen were all excited, and all hands were on deck to make Erika and Chadwick’s wedding day special. Bridesmaids and groomsmen made bouquets and boutonnieres. The groom’s mother made all of the wreathes that adorned the windows of the reception venue. Every bit of decor was made by hand, with love, by friends and family members of the bride and groom.

Erika and Chadwick’s first look was beautiful. I never cease to be amazed by the moment a groom sees his bride for the very first time. The greeting was beautiful. Their faces were full of relief and joy. The day they would become husband and wife had finally arrived. I caught the bridesmaids peeking inside the beautiful old chapel during the first look, and I could tell that they were just as touched by the moment as I was!

We had a great time with this wedding party. They were on time and ready for the camera, which allowed us enough time to have some serious fun with these guys. We captured some of my favorite wedding party photos with this group. {I struggled to decide which ones to share!} Since we had extra time with this group, I asked them if they had any ideas for some fun group shots. One of the bridesmaids suggested they throw leaves. {I’m pretty sure I squealed with glee when she said it!} What a fabulous idea! Their plum-colored bridesmaid dresses were beautiful against the golden background, and the leaf-throwing images might just be my very favorite from the day!

The ceremony was intimate and full of love. I was moved to tears, hiding behind my camera, as Chadwick washed the feet of his bride. When the minister prepared to pray over the couple at the end of the ceremony, the bridesmaids and groomsmen approached the couple, and they laid hands on them as he prayed. I really can’t think of a more beautiful way for friends to show their love and support for their now-married friends, Mr. and Mrs. Berryhill.

After the first kiss, the bride and groom practically ran down the aisle. And to show their excitement and happiness for Erika and Chadwick…several of the bridesmaids and groomsmen danced back down the aisle. It was completely adorable.

The reception was lovely. The bride and groom served a country-style breakfast to their guests. Cheese grits and biscuits and gravy are just a few items that were on the menu. There was even a bonfire outside of the old school house, and inside? There were smore-makings, so the kids could have some fun too.

At Erika and Chadwick’s engagement session, we used glass-bottled Cokes for a few of the photos. Well those same bottles sat on the groom’s table, and each guest took home their own glass-bottled coke as a favor.

It was a beautiful celebration of unity and love. We were honored to be present as these two began their life as husband and wife. Erika and Chadwick, thank you for allowing us to capture your wedding day. We pray that the Lord continues bless your marriage and the home you build together, that you continue to draw closer to Him and each other, and that all of your days are filled with love, joy and laughter.

Be blessed!
