Taking Risks For Love | 2nd Anniversary | T2 Photography

Thirteen days after I graduated from Auburn University, in May of 2007, I was offered a fabulous job. I’d be teaching at a private school and handling the school’s public relations. I was super excited. Then, on the same day, I found out that Thomas had been offered a job in Madison, Alabama. I went from super excited to heavy hearted in about 2.3 seconds.

My parents wanted me to drive to their house to discuss the job opportunity, so I headed over to Phenix City to meet them for lunch the next Saturday. I walked to their door with sweaty palms and a racing heart. They saw me outside and swung the door open. My step-dad held a bottle of champagne, and my mom had three glasses waiting. They beamed. They were so proud that their daughter, out of college less than two weeks, was already offered a job.

Instantly, I errupted into tears…and they were so confused. I knew that I could not take the job, because I knew that Thomas was the man I was going to marry. My parents were surprised, but they understood and supported my decision.

Thomas took the job he was offered, so I packed my bags and set out to follow him to Madison. It was the biggest risk I had ever taken. But I knew what my heart was telling me, and  I knew that I had to listen.

A month later, on July 3rd, 2007, sitting on the back porch of the home we now share together, Thomas asked me to be his wife.

On February 16th, 2008, in a big white church in front of our friends, families and God, he made me Mrs. Thomas Boutwell…and the happiest girl in the world. Today we celebrate our 2 year anniversary, and he still makes me the happiest girl in the world.

We’re planning an anniversary-inspired giveaway tonight, so check back soon to find out more!

Happy anniversary, Thomas. You’re my best friend, my soul mate & the man that I always dreamt of. Thank you for your caring soul, your patience, your supportive nature and for always seeing the best in me. Thank you for being willing to take risks, passionate about life, and excited to live life with me. I love you T2, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
