Oh my goodness! I don’t even know where to begin with Megan and Corey’s session. This has to be one of the most special engagement sessions we’ve photographed. That’s saying a lot…because we’ve photographed LOTS of engagement sessions that we’ve absolutely loved, with couples we absolutely love! Why? Well…this was a big deal for a couple of reasons.
I’ve known Megan since second grade. We lived right down the street from each other when we were in elementary school, and I can’t even begin to count how many days we spent playing in the woods behind her house and swimming in her swimming pool. There were a couple of summers that we were practically inseparable. I moved to Auburn at the end of seventh grade, and believe it or not, Megan moved to Tuscaloosa when she was in tenth grade. {How funny is that?!} I’ve known Megan longer than I have known any other bride we’ve photographed! We did lose touch for a while, but little did we know, our paths would cross again in a very interesting way as adults.
Part 2 of what makes this soooo special?! Megan and I found each other again on Facebook during college. Thomas had always enjoyed photography, but it wasn’t until we were living in Huntsville that he decided he might like to actually pursue photography…as a business. Wouldn’t you know…that my childhood friend, Megan Forehand, had become a photographer?
Megan was a huge help to us as we started the business. We spent lots of time chatting with her on the phone, and we actually went and shadowed her at a wedding right as we were starting up.
I can’t even begin to explain how thrilled we were when Megan contacted us and asked us to shoot her wedding. So awesome. This is our first photographer wedding…this is my first time shooting an elementary school friend’s wedding…and the fact that Megan helped us get started…well that makes the whole situation entirely awesome!!
Thomas and I were so excited about Megan & Corey’s session. Corey has recently started shooting with Megan too, so we were super excited to spend some time with another {soon-to-be} husband and wife team for the day. It was more like we were all just hanging out, but Thomas and I happened to be photographing them too! {That’s really what we try to do at every session, but with Megan and Corey it was super easy…because cameras are just part of all of our daily lives!}
Megan, Thomas and I spent lots of time chatting on the phone before the session. We took all of our ideas, and we kind of melded them together for the session. I really feel like the end result was lovely! Megan and Corey were also super comfortable in front of the camera, even though they may not admit it!
After they got comfortable…they started to just pose themselves! It’s got to be “the photographer” in them.
Megan and Corey are getting married on March 12th…which also happens to be my birthday! And honestly? I am completely stoked about spending my birthday photographing their big day.
Megan and Corey, we’re so glad that you chose us to capture these moments as you start your life together as husband and wife! We’re honored!
