Merry Christmas a little bit late, friends! We’ve been mighty busy with Christmas doings for the past few weeks, so we wanted to take a minute and share a few images of our family Christmas celebrations!

We began the festivities the weekend before Christmas with our Boutwell family and our Cates family at the farm in Greenville. We took a sleigh ride…well, we actually took a ride on a tractor-pulled wagon, but in South Alabama on Christmas, who could ask for more?! After that, we celebrated Christmas with Thomas’ parents, grandmother, siblings, nieces and nephews at the cabin on Cedar Creek Plantation. After lots of gifts, good food and time playing with all the new toys, we called it a night. The next morning, we woke up and headed to have lunch with our Cates family. Thomas’ maternal grandparents have 45 descendants {children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren}, so we have outgrown the family cabins. Now we have our family Christmas in an old Southern school house. We enjoyed a round of Dirty Santa with the whole fam, and then Thomas and I headed back to Huntsville.

On the 23rd, Thomas and I headed South again. This time we went to Phenix City to visit my parents. My step-dad surprised my mother by flying family down from Iowa, so we had a house full. My mom, Fred,  Ken, Matt, Fred III, Angie, Alden, Anna, T1, Kate, Beth, Grandma Myrna, Aunt Ann, Grace, T2 and I had a wonderful Christmas.  (Yes! All 16 of us!) We also celebrated my step-dad’s retirement after more than 30 years of employment with the same company! {Well done, and thank you, Fred. We love you!}
